Hyundai Tiburon AEM Cold Air Intake

In 2005 Hyundai face lifted the Tiburon and reshuffled the model lineup; offering GS, GT, and SE models. The SE was now a separate trim from the GT models. Hyundai's four-cylinder engine went into the GS, while the other two held the 2.7-liter V6. A five-speed manual transmission was standard. A four-speed automatic with a manual shift was optional for GS and GT models, but the SE had exclusive use of a six-speed manual gearbox. Anti-lock brakes were standard on the SE and optional for the GT coupe, which could be equipped with leather upholstery. GS coupes rode on 16-inch wheels, versus 17-inch for other models. All-disc brakes and front side airbags were standard. Anti-lock brakes were made standard on all 2006 model Tiburon's.

The majority of AEM's cold air intake system designs mount to a vehicle in two locations. One mounting location is to the engine at the throttle body and the "cold" or filter end of the inlet pipe mounts to the body of the car. The movement of the engine on the engine mounts allows it to rock inside the engine bay, so AEM compensates for engine motion by using a soft mount that provides a flexible link for the inlet pipe between the engine and the body of the car. If you do not install the soft mount properly the inlet tube may break at the bracket weld and void the warranty on the air intake system. The instructions that are provided include a detailed diagram of proper installation of the soft mount.
