Honda Accord AEM Cold Air Intake

The Honda Accord is the series of midrange automobiles manufactured by Honda since 1976, and sold in most automotive markets throughout the world. The Accord became the first Japanese car to be produced in the U.S in 1982, when production commenced in Marysville, Ohio at Honda's Marysville Auto Plant. It is also produced in Guangzhou, China since the 1999 inception of the Guangzhou Honda Joint Venture. The Accord has achieved considerable success, especially in the United States, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for nearly 20 years (1982-97) topping its class in sales in 1991 and 2001, with around ten million vehicles sold. The majority of AEM's cold air intake system designs mount to a vehicle in two locations. One mounting location is to the engine at the throttle body and the "cold" or filter end of the inlet pipe mounts to the body of the car. The movement of the engine on the engine mounts allows it to rock inside the engine bay, so AEM compensates for engine motion by using a soft mount that provides a flexible link for the inlet pipe between the engine and the body of the car. If you do not install the soft mount properly the inlet tube may break at the bracket weld and void the warranty on the air intake system. The instructions that are provided include a detailed diagram of proper installation of the soft mount.
